Lucas Oil Raises Over $5K for Veteran MX Foundation
Oceanside, CA (September 6, 2018) – The motocross community came together in the month of August to support veterans through the Veteran MX Foundation, an organization committed to the recovery and assimilation of service men and women through motocross training.
At the Loretta Lynn’s AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, Lucas Oil disseminated product to riders and their families on a donation basis. Riders and teams donated signed jerseys and other gear toward the cause, and at the Ironman Pro Motocross National fans gathered for a live auction in the Lucas Oil First Class Zone to bid on memorabilia from their favorite riders and brands. In total, the events raised $5,400, with funds going towards making motocross, and what has been termed “throttle therapy,” more accessible to veterans across the country.
Veteran MX Foundation has seen rapid growth since it’s inception in 2013, with Lucas Oil signing on as a sponsor of the organization in 2016. The efforts last month are geared not only towards raising funds, but also building awareness and growing membership. Whether it’s motocross training, access to equipment and gear, or simply the camaraderie of bringing veterans together, the feedback from Vet MX members has been resoundingly positive.
Said Cody Blankenship of Veteran MX, “We love our partners, My Lucas Oil, and the entire moto community. Thank you to everyone involved; this is why Veteran MX is a successful community. Because those in moto care.”
Veteran MX and some of its members will be featured in the upcoming full-feature film Motocross, produced by Forrest Lucas.
