Lucas Oil joined Lucas Legion riders as a sponsor of the FMF California Classic April 18-21 at Pala Raceway.
Lucas Legion welcomes Anthony Gonsalves to the team. At the FMF Cal Classic, his first race as a Lucas Oil rider, Gonsalves earned a whopping six championships! Congrats to Anthony on a great performance, earned contingency, and championship trophies in 250C, 250 C Limited, 250 C Jr 12-16, 450 C, 450C Limited, and Open C.
Hunter Cross returned to the race track after overcoming injury and illness. He got some great starts on his #71 KTM, but fifteen minute motos required serious endurance. With little time to train after getting back on the bike, Cross came up just shy of a podium performance. Still, with a sixth place overall finish in Schoolboy 1 B/C and a 7th place overall finish in Schoolboy 2 B/C, Cross wrapped up the weekend with solid performances, some seat time under his belt, and a renewed focus on training as he prepares for Loretta's.
Noah Viney #43 represented the BTO Sports Rides Unlimited team at Cal Classic, lining up against a stacked class in Mini Senior 1 and Mini Senior 2. Viney brought his usual fearless style to the track, and closed the weekend with 6th and 9th place finishes. We can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds for Viney.
Gonsalves, Cross, Viney, and all Lucas Legion riders who placed in the top 50% of their class earned contingency at the Cal Classic. For more information about the 2019 Contingency Schedule, and how to report performance, click here.
